For our Sociology class, we are doing a blog about the looking glass self and how it effects people every single day. The looking glass self is basically thinking about how others see you. Taking a step outside of your head and thinking about how others are looking at you. Some people have trouble dealing with this because they feel like people are judging them. So check it out!

Anna makes a valid point. She used a good example, such as Halloween, to describe the looking self theory. Halloween IS a chance for people to dress in a different character. People even take so far in ways to actually ACT like their character.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a very good example because people use this for an opportunity to become something they aren't, and it is often someone pretty or sexual.
